For fabricators and engineering workshops

Job management software for fabricators and engineering workshops

Gates, railings, staircases, brackets, steel frames and one-off machine parts: quoted with the steel at cost, made in the workshop, fitted on site and invoiced from the hours and materials booked to the job.

What you get

Where a fabrication workshop feels the difference

Workshop jobs have two halves, the make and the fit. These parts of FESK.UK keep both halves on one record.

  • Steel and consumables at cost

Keep box section, flat bar, sheet, discs, wire and gas in the Library with cost and sale prices, and add a one-off line for the bespoke piece. The quote shows the margin to anyone allowed to see costs.

  • Make on Tuesday, fit on Friday

Give a job extra visit days with their own times, one in the workshop and one on site. Each day shows on the schedule, and the header shows the workshop hours booked against the hours available.

  • Drawings sent with the quote

Attach the drawing to the quote and mark it visible to the customer. They see it on their phone with the price and accept both together, while your own sketches stay marked internal.

  • Bench hours and site hours on one job

Each fabricator times their own work, and the hours sit on the job with overtime or weekend uplifts where they apply. Reports show how long each kind of job really takes, so the next quote starts from real hours.

  • Repeat work from a template

Save the railing or bracket you make again and again as a job template, with the hours, the priced lines and a suggested RAMS. Start the next one from it and change only the sizes.

  • Hot work checked before it starts

Jobs that mention welding, grinding or plasma cutting bring up the hot work check: combustibles moved, extinguisher in reach, a fire watch afterwards. The welding and fabrication RAMS is signed on the phone.

Can you make and fit a steel security grille for our shop's back window? It's about a metre square.
We can do that, Dean. I've noted a steel grille for the back window, about a metre square, and your photo. What's the best number to reach you on?

Fair questions

What fabricators ask

Does it do drawings, cutting lists or nesting?

No. FESK.UK isn't CAD or nesting software. Attach the drawing and the cutting list as PDFs so whoever is making it opens them from the job on their phone.

Can I take a deposit before ordering steel?

Yes. Switch on deposits and set the amount on the quote, with the VAT worked out. With Stripe, the customer pays as they accept. Otherwise a deposit invoice goes out for a bank transfer.

Can I send purchase orders to the stockholder from the app?

Not yet. Purchase orders are recorded in FESK.UK, and receiving one adds the steel to stock, but you send the order to the stockholder the way you do now.

Can the customer see it while it's being made?

Yes. Photos you mark as visible show on the customer's tracking page with the job's progress, so they can see the gate before it's fitted.
