Getting started

From sign-up to your first job out the door. Eight steps, about ten minutes.

Steps 1 to 3

Set up

Your account, your team and your customers. You do these once.

  1. Create your account

Start a free trial in three short steps. Nothing is taken until day 15, and if you cancel before then, you pay nothing.

    • 1AccountYour name, email and a password
    • 2PlanYour business name and plan
    • 3PaymentYour card, £0 today
  2. Add your team

Invite each person by email. They set their own password, and their role decides what they see. For staff, you switch extras on or off in Settings, like seeing cost prices.

    • OwnerEverything, including billing
    • AdminEverything except billing
    • StaffTheir own jobs and hours
  3. Add your customers

Save your customer spreadsheet as a CSV file and import it, or add people as you go. If someone looks like they're already on file, you're warned before a duplicate is made.

Steps 4 to 6

Your first job

Raise it, book it in, log the hours. Every job after is the same.

  1. Create the job

Pick the customer and describe the work. Add the materials you'll need and any photos from the site. Everything else hangs off this record.

  2. Schedule and assign

Give the job a date and assign it to one or more people. When plans change, drag it to another day. In Settings you can add your own job statuses and put them in the order your work runs.

  3. Track time

On site, start the timer when work begins. When you stop it, it's two taps to log the hours to your timesheet. You can also add hours by hand afterwards. Timesheets total each person's hours for payroll.

Steps 7 and 8

Take it with you

Put it on your phone, then pick what to try next.

  1. Put it on your phone

It installs from the browser, with no app store. Once it's on your home screen it opens full screen. If the signal drops, your jobs are still there, and changes sync when you're back online.

    • iPhoneOpen the site in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”.
    • AndroidOpen the site in Chrome, tap the menu, then “Install app”.
  2. What to try next

That's the core covered. When you're ready, these are worth a look.

Try it on your next job.
